the hop cone is ground, and forced through a die under high pressure to form a dense pellet. the outside of the pellets are sealed with the resins, which keeps the inside of the pellet fresh. 

The Hop Pellets are THEN PACKAGED IN nitrogen flushED mylar bags. 

hop pellets are easier to store, measure, and clean than whole Leaf hops. most breweries prefer the use of pellets.
